The 5 Vikings

The 5 free standing, life-size Vikings and wall murals were commissioned for Royal Caribbean Cruise Liner – Grandeur of the Seas by the Finnish Shipbuilder Kvaekne Masa.  Launched on 1 March 1996 The Vikings were sited as Keeping Watch over the Signature Lounge atop the ship.  It has multiple levels and stunning views all round. Often a quiet haven during the day, the upper bar and aft sun-lounge became the late night disco area that could also be used for private parties when desired. 

As you can see Walenty has given them warlike costumes with boots, shields and weapons – quite detailed in design and very obviously soldiers on duty protecting the ship.
